Clementine is an acquired taste and one that many come to love. She is out of the ordinary and goes off the path traveled often. Her heart is very mature and wise. She is a great friend to all and very good at listening to others’ problems and giving advice as necessary. Her heart runs deep and has endless capacity for compassion and understanding. Need to ask her a favor? She won’t even blink an eye or think twice. She puts others’ needs before her own.

Extra: Clementine sees Valentine's Day as gaudy and unnecessary, because if you truly love someone, then everyday should be Valentine's Day. Everyday you should be showing your significant other that you love them. From her love, she gets a single clementine with a little note attached to it everyday. But, on Valentine's Day, she gets a large basket of clementines with individual notes attached to each one. The time and dedication it takes him to put together her gift is what matters the most to her. On some of the notes, there are favorite memories, favorite songs, favorite sayings, and plenty of compliments.

Story: The steam from the shower filled the bathroom as I hopped out of the shower and into our room. I pulled on a short, off the shoulder, A-line dress and slipped on my black Louboutin heels with bright red bottoms. I casually walk into the bathroom and unwrap my hair towel. Flicking on the blow drier, I run my brush through my hair as I dry my hair. My heart races as I pull my strawberry blonde hair back into a loose updo. Excitement and curiosity as to where he’s taking me filled my mind. Every year, Wilder takes me somewhere different and this year is our ten-year anniversary. His present laid out on our bed and I peeked out of the bathroom to make sure he hadn’t returned from work. Wilder always dislikes it when I cover up my plentiful freckles with makeup. So tonight, I only lightly dotted concealer on my blemishes and red spots. I brushed on bronze eyeshadow and layered the colors to create a sultry, bronze smoky eye. I lightly coated on mascara and finished off the look with light blush and a bright red lipstick. His favorite color on me was red. Finishing up my makeup, I headed to my bedroom to finish his gift and wrap it before Wilder got home. I heard the front door creep open and his footsteps downstairs so I hurried to finish his gift. Wilder's heavy footsteps up the stairs excited me and I wondered what his reaction would be. I went back to the bathroom to calm my excitement and act natural. He opened up our bedroom door and I casually walked out of the bathroom. Wilder's eyes grew as he stared at me. He smiled and said "Wow, my wife is a stunner." I blushed and smiled as I walked over to him. We locked lips and I said with a big grin, "So, where are we going tonight?" He smiled and fidgeted in his pocket for a second, then pulled out a white envelope with gold detailing. He smiled and handed it to me. I gently opened the letter and it was an invitation to the seasonal Japanese citrus garden. I hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. We walked to our car and he opened the door for me. I gently rubbed Wilder's hand the entire drive and had a big smile on my face. We arrived at our destination and valet greeted us and we were escorted through the building, to the back gardens where the event was. Following the waiter, we walked through string lights hanging delicately from the branches of exotic citrus trees. We arrived at a small gazebo in the middle of the exhibit and we sat at the table for two. Beautiful lights hung from the roof of the gazebo as vines climbed the pillars. In the center of our table was a large basket of clementines, all freshly picked from this garden. And as usual, there were notes each attached to every one of them. We enjoyed course after course of citrus-infused dish and exchanged our gifts. It was something I had never thought of and something I would always remember.
